This is my first alocasia, and that little leaf spike has been the same size for the last 3 months lol. Is that normal? Are they usually super slow growers? Is there anything I can do to nudge it along?

my dragon scale really started thriving when i moved it a couple feet back from the window, and with daily misting!
2 likesHow long have you had it? If it hasn’t been very long, it might still be getting established in the new environment rather than focusing on new growth
0 likesI’ve had that one for about 4 months. It was 2 plants in one pot. About 3 months ago, I split it apart and repotted them separately in clear nursery pots so I could monitor the moisture level (I heard they are prone to root rot?) I do see some new root growth in there so maybe it’s focusing on that first?
1 likeYeah that could definitely be it. I feel like mine does nothing for a few months and then randomly puts out 2-3 new leaves lol
2 likesI have had an alocasia before, and boy was it one of my pickiest plants! It LOVES humidity, so I recommend a humidifier or putting it in the bathroom while you shower
2 likesI put a humidifier in the room with it, but why didn’t I think to take a shower with it haha!! That’s such a good idea
