Torn between a win and if I should be worried. My black velvet alocasia has produced a flower as well as having a new leaf coming through. I was taking it as a win until the wonderful world of google said that it can flower when under stress. I know I’ve had it a month or so now. Should I be concerned or am I overthinking it as I know they can be fussy with their environments? Thank you for any advice in advance

What I’ve read a flower is a sign of a healthy plant. Just clip off when you want to, to return that energy to the plant. I didn’t know they flower that’s awesome

As long as the rest of the plant looks healthy and has been doing well it’s usually not a sign of stress. But w joy the flower and snip that puppy off once it starts to fade so it can give energy back to the plant

Thank you. There’s a leaf or two starting to grow out so I snipped the bottom yellowing leaf and the flower now. It seems to be doing well where it is as my house gets a lot of light and it’s placed just out of where the direct light hits. I have also put a rock under the pot so it can sit with water underneath but not actually sat in the water for humidity. Poor thing seemed to have a lot going on all at once so should be nice for it to be able to use it energy elsewhere as I also had two corms off it too
