Hi All. Recently bought my first philodendrons. I’m wondering if/when I should repot this lovely. Root to soil ratio seems pretty good, but she’s so top heavy and I would like to get her climbing on something soon - have yet to decide what. Currently in a 4” pot. Would sizing up to this 5” x 5” be a good idea? Or should I leave things be for now? Or go up to a 6” pot? Any and all suggestions and observations welcome!

Admiration is also welcome. ☺️ I think she’s my favorite, though I’ve only had her for two weeks. It’s a Painted Lady. Here’s a better picture. 🥰

I got it from Gabriella’s Plants. They are currently on sale for $20 - usually $30.

I think the repot is a good idea. She’s getting tall and could use the wider base.

Thanks for the input. I really want her to thrive during these warmer months.

Agree with a repot. It’s also the ideal time of year so it’ll be less of a shock to the plant now. Gorgeous plant, too 😍 If you’re going to stake her go with a larger pot so that you have extra room for the pole or whatever you plan to do with that. Good luck!

Thank you! Okay, I think I will go up a pot size. I’m excited to get her settled and see how she grows this summer!

Repot and give her a pole to start climbing and watch her boom with new new leaves 🫶🏽
