My white wizard has put out several all white leaves on its main stem, and I know they won’t likely last long with the lack of chlorophyll. Should I trim them off? Where do I trim? If I cut underneath the first white leaf, will it continue to regrow?

3개 좋아요Mine has started doing the same thing! A silica fertilizer/supplement may help them last a little longer, but they will eventually brown and die. You can chop the petiole/leaf stem close to the node to remove each leaf, but since it’s putting out consecutive all white leaves people say to chop back to the last node with green on it. It will then start growing from the axillary nodes and make new “vines” that will hopefully have more green on them.
3개 좋아요If u want to remove them you need to cut the stem down to below the first white leaf. Or u can leave it, add some silica to ur waterings & wait to see if it changes 🤷🏼♀️ Personally I think it’s beautiful
좋아요 1개Thanks, I will try some silica! I absolutely love them (it’s even started pushing out a 4th white leaf!) but I’m just afraid they won’t last long!
0개 좋아요Totally get that. They wouldn’t last long on their own for sure. Silica may help, I never used it for a pure white leaf. So maybe experiment? Then if they end up dying off anyway even w/ silica, then you k ow for future reference

When I saw this I was like: 😳 “oh no” Don’t get me wrong, it’s stunning, but I’ve heard that cutting off the leaves you want less of could increase the chances of new growth similar to the other remaining leaves. But it’s a hit or miss case.
