Does anyone know why these new leaves are brown/reddish in some places? It’s only the new ones (but not all) that seem spotted. He did get too much water recently but I was able to dry him out sufficiently, I think. Also, I see tiny spider webs on the top part of the leaves but not at the base or tucked away and dense like spider mite webs I’ve seen in the past. I don’t see white dots that may indicate eggs. Could this just be a common spider (plant is outside on covered front porch) or am I wishful thinking?

Do the brown parts feel like the same texture as the rest of the leaf or dry or mushy? If the leaves feel healthy, it’s probably just gene expression. Birkins can show some rogue genes sometimes. The non-variegated version of the plant looks like an imperial red philodendron

It’s not dry or mushy, they feel tender like new foliage should. And it does look like the same kind of red as some of the other parts so I bet that’s it. Thank you!
