Hello all! I got this philodendron today hoping I can save it. It seems to me like it's been way overwatered which is causing the browning of the leaves. Should I remove the brown leaves are just leave them? Any other tips, tricks, or suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you!
I personally would trim the dead ones back to where your plant can focus its nutrients to the healthy leaves and focus on growing more in general!

You need discard the entire leaf because this plant still needs to oxygen to other stems… it’s best to trim all the way back to just the best leaves
0 likesPlants need green to do photosynthesis, you can trim the brown edges off if you want it to look prettier but otherwise those leaves aren’t doing any harm. If anything they will help the plant bounce back quicker. Definitely suggest a repot and check for any root rot. Removing damaged roots will help more than removing damaged leaves.
2 likesIf you think the browning is from overwatering, then definitely check the roots for root rot. Repot in a chunkier, aroid soil mix that has perlite and orchid bark/coco coir so it drains well and gives the roots air to breathe to prevent root rot.
