Hi plant friends! 🪴💛 I have a couple questions about my heart leaf philodendron brasil. 1) Is that a double leaf trying to unfurl??? Should I help it or just keep an eye on it? I’ve never seen growth like this on one of my own plants so I don’t want to damage anything. 2) There is a stem (vine?) that looks woody. Does that mean it’s dead? It looks like it has new growth at the end, so I could cut it past the brown section and put in water, but I’m not sure if it’s a lost cause already.

    Those are not woody. Those look like sheaths where leaves unfurled. They will dry up and fall off.

      Also do not worry about what might be that double leaf it will not harm the plant. You don’t need to help it out unless it gets much bigger and you don’t see coming out, but even if you help it, it might harm the leaf, but will not harm the plant in the long run. I’d leave it and see what happens.

      That’s helpful, thank you! What do you think about lower on that same vine, where the stem suddenly blends in with the soil?
