Today I upsized this philodendron to a 10” pot and moved from under a grow light to the window instead. I’m happy with its progress, but I don’t want it getting bigger than this 10” pot. Is there a way to reduce its growth rate without also compromising its health?

pruning and propagating like cutting it down and cut the roots down as well that works

Thank you. Do you think moving it from under a grow light to just natural light will slow it down a bit?

Will pruning keep it from getting root bound very quickly?

You dont need to cut the leaves. All you need to do is when it needs a repot, remove 1/4 of the bottom of the roots ball and repot it. I do this with any plant that i don't want it out of the current pot it's in.

You can also reduce the fertilizer, if you use any. But that'd equally effect the leaf lush-ness

To clarify, Just remove 1/4 of the root ball, but don’t split the whole plant? Because I don’t really want a third plant either lol.

No dividing. I just cut away 1/4 of the bottom of the roots ball. And if needed a bit from the sides.
