Hi all, this is my big philodendron that I’ve had for about 6 years now. I’m not sure of his type but I need help because he keeps trying to jump ship, as it were. I’ve gone from one 18” bamboo stick to two 36” bamboos and he just keeps falling over. I have just Macguyvered a tie with a rubber band and a safety pin but this is obviously only temporary. What can you recommend to help this dude? His base is sideways in the pot and I’ve tried to recenter him without success. I’m guessing he needs a bigger pot and some kind of stronger support stick but I’m not sure what. Any recommendations are appreciated. He’s currently in a 9” pot with drainage. Thanks!!!

Give it a big moss pole or coir pole and use velcro plant tape to attach it. Much better support

I feel like it’s It’s In such a small pot that it can’t build roots to hold itself up properly please upsize its pot and don’t add a pole, after you upsize the plant it will take more time growing its roots than leaves so expect it to take a while before growing anything more

How much bigger would you go? I’ve always increased by only 1-2” because I read that plants can get root rot if it’s too big. Thanks!
