I didn’t realize philos were climbers 🧐 should I be giving my red ruby a support? She’s getting pretty big and splaying out. (Hand for size ref)

It looks self heading, but if she’s growing aerial roots it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try! ☺️

Yes, most philodendrons are climbers. They grow up in their natural habitat by wrapping their aerial roots around the trunks of trees. Giving her a pole for support is going to be personal preference on what you want for your plant baby’s future lol.

I always recommend experimenting!! It’s best way to learn what you like. To tell my own story. I went through a phase of making moss poles and trying organic and non-organic supports. But in the end, the supports made it difficult to repot the plants and introduced the potential of mold into the pot. I still have the poles and materials but I doubt I’ll ever use them again.
