This sweet Philo was looking great for its first few months. Now the leaves are all curled up. Not sure what's going on. It's well watered and misted. But I water from the bottom to help with keeping away bugs from the top. So maybe I need to start watering from the top. There are some baby leaves growing. Any advice would be hugely appreciated!
If it’s in terra cotta watering from the bottom means the pot itself is going to absorb water too. If you don’t leave it long enough only the pot will absorb it. I recommend watering through it while it’s sitting in the bowl and then letting it sit for 10+ min. I do this with every plant I own once they dry out according to plant type. Philodendrons it’s I little over halfway down the pot ( 75% dry)
좋아요 1개 Another thing is always check new plants for the mesh of death. If it was originally started in a Coco coir pod removing it will help dramatically. You’ll notice the mesh in the center of the root ball. I remove the soil with a chopstick and inspect the roots when repotting

Leaves curling up like that on a philodendron are usually indicative of not enough water. If you are watering from the bottom, are you making sure the top is moist before you remove it from the bucket, or whatever you are using? And if it has been dry for a long time it may be hydrophobic. Then it would need a longer time sitting in water. Just occurred to me. How are you bottom watering? I’m assuming you use a large container to place the entire pot into. If you are just using the saucer under the pot, well that doesn’t work.
