Hello!! I’m a new philodendron momma and just picked this beauty up at Lowe’s! Just rinsed her off and changed soil to avoid any unwelcome guests into the fam. Does anyone have any care tips or things I should look out for? This is the first plant I’ve bought from a big box store everything else in my collection I’ve propagated so I’m not really sure how cautious I have to be about pests?? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!🫶🏼🩷💚
Bright light Water when the soil is dry. You may have to help open new leaves emerging. Mist new leaves opening, to prevent the leaves getting torn or ripped

Most of my plants are from big box stores and haven’t gotten pest infestation from one yet… BUT I always treat and quarantine first. I spray mine with a mix of isopropyl alcohol/ dr bronners peppermint Castile soap/water and spray EVERYTHING til is soaked through real good. Then the next time I water it I water with a 4:1 water/hydrogen peroxide mix to get anything in the soil. And then I leave it in an isolated spot for 2-3 weeks while I check for more bugs and possibly spray with the dr bronners soap mixture once or twice again. Then theyre free to go into the collection.

0개 좋아요 Hi!!! I quarantine mine by putting it in a location far from other plants, while still being close-ish to the window. So for me, I put new plants on my kitchen table about 3’ from other plants and a big window. Or if you have an empty window sil that would be a good place for quarantine plants for a couple weeks.
