I have a heart leaf philodendron that is growing like mad, and seems generally very healthy except for one leaf on each vine. I was gone for about ten days and my housesitter forgot to water her. Each of the leaves that is damaged was the new leaf at the end of the vine when it was allowed to dry out completely. The ones which have unfurled since that week are healthy (it's growing so fast I'm getting about two inches of vine and a new leaf every 10 days.) I'm wondering if it was the fact that she was allowed to dry out that caused the leaf damage on just those two leaves. Is that a thing? I'm constantly battling mealies and thrips on my pothos (because I collect them from outside and the little buggers hide in the crevices of the stems) so I am paranoid that it was some sort of pest that caused the damage (I don't see any though). Also, is it normal for a heart leaf to develop variegated leaves like a Brazil or is it more likely that there are two different plant species in this pot?
