ok in all my research of what this philodendron could be, today is the first time i’ve come across “philodendron eva” which i believe to be what i have here. as an aside, i’ve been noticing the new leaves have been getting stuck like the second photo a lot but i *know* it’s not low humidity — i don’t have AC and this sits in an open window. weird!

Following for an answer for myself for my philodendron billietiae, RIP this potential leaf that got stuck and then broke

it’s usually a humidity thing! even now i’m reconsidering — we had extreme humidity for a while (like 85-90%) and recently it’s gone back to a more reasonable 70% — wondering if it might have been the major dip, not that 70% is too low necessarily

my princess, knight, and fire philodendrons do this sporadically, no matter how much humidity they’re exposed to 🙄 ring of fire is def the worst culprit, i tend to help it out if the leaf is really “stuck”

I have a Maria Allusion syngonium growing in water that took over two months to unfurl a leaf. I just give it the side eye and keep rolling cause I know it’s not my fault! 😁
