So I really think I got my velvet philos mixed up when I bought them as babies. Or they weren’t sold correctly identified. This is supposedly my melanochrysum but his leaves aren’t looking as elongated to me but more rounded. Does this look more like a glorious? Maybe that’s why she doesn’t root into the moss pole as well because she wants to crawl?? Any thoughts are appreciated!!

It’s definitely not a melanochrysum, and I don’t think it’s a splendid bc that has verrucosum in it that should present the veins differently than this. However, I think that glorious is a solid bet bc it combines the more rounded shape and white veins of gloriosum with the darker velvet and climbing nature of melanochrysum. I’m def not an expert but I have spent a LOT of time comparing all these varieties so I can best allocate my limited space without too many that look the same lol
2 J'aime I appreciate your insight. I was thinking the exact same thing!! You know what this means?? I need to buy another plant!! How can I call myself a philo lover and not have a melanochrysum? 😂😂
