Hey guys! I just got this little guy a few days ago at Walmart and I need advice on repotting it. I know I’m supposed to use a blend of soils and certain pots but I’m not sure which ones. Any help is very much appreciated! TIA!🪴🩷

for pots you want it to be about 1 inch larger than the root ball of the plant - if you gather it all together, it should have a bit of breathing room once it gets placed in the pot. you also want to make sure there’s holes in the bottom for water drainage. as for soil, I generally mix equal parts potting soil, perlite (make sure there’s airflow or wear a mask, it gets rlly dusty!) and orchid bark to make it lighter and breathable. I mix it all in a larger plastic bin so I have it available whenever I want to repot!

1 likeI may not be best at id, but is that a philodendron white knight? One of my favorite plants. I bought mine several months ago. Hard to believe a couple years ago they were so expensive. A suggestion, because of the high variegation, supplement with silica. It helps to prevent the white areas turning brown. Research silica plant supplement, before you buy. There are two types. One is much better than the other. And the above recommendation is spot on.
4 likesLooks like it is either a white knight or white wizard, can’t tell from the pic if the stem coloring is burgundy or brown. Either way, both are nice! Agree with you on the silica - since I’ve started using it, new leaves are coming in with more variegation and the white is brighter.
0 likesSoil recipe from Amazon, Molly's Aroid Mix 10 Quart, O farmers chunky perlite size 5-10 , Bio char of your choice.. add all Molly's to a bin, add a half 10quart bag of extra chunky perlite and about 2 cups of bio char, and about 1 cup of osmocote pellets.... That made all my Philodendrons thrive.. it's the same as Ems, Molly's just has everything in it so it's cheaper to just buy it and add your components. Oh and USE SUPERTHRIVE !! USE WITH EVERY WATERING, IT'S VITAMINS, NOT FERTILIZER.. The osmocote is your fertilizer, it's good for 6/8 months...
