I’m here looking for some advice. I bought this white wizard philodendron in an H2O bowl. Within a few days of buying it, I put it in well draining chunky soil. Only a few smaller roots were rotted and I removed them. Before I potted, it did lose a smaller leaf (turned yellow and fell off). I’ve had it in the pot for about two weeks now. Earlier today I noticed a leaf yellowing. It’s yellow/brown on the stem as well. I’m very careful with watering. The root system has not spread to the sides of the clear container it’s in, but the little bit of root I can see looks to be fine. She is putting off a new leaf, but I’m anxious and don’t want to mess this up lol. I’m wondering if anybody has seen this before/if it is normal for the philodendrons? (It’s one of my plants closest to my humidifier)

I’m not sure but my white wizard stresses me out too. It’s just such a pretty plant that I don’t want to kill it😭

It’s most likely growing ‘dirt’ roots. Water roots are airier softer and fuzzier and sometimes don’t adjust well to switching to hard mediums. As long as the roots are not rotting give it some time to adjust. You may still lose a few leaves due to resource allocation. A good rooting fertilizer will help.

When roots go to a wet medium into a soil they at times get shock from the sudden change. Acclimate your roots accordingly by keeping the soil fairly moist to make the new roots sprout in soil. Since it’s been in water for a while it’s use to constantly being wet. Give it some help with some shock ingredients and increase humidity perhaps.
