What can I do for this baby to prevent the white from turning… | Philodendron Parents | Plantaコミュニティ

What can I do for this baby to prevent the white from turning transparent? The leaf that’s really bad was when it was directly under the light, since then I’ve moved it away & the others seem to be okay but I feel like they could be better. These leaves were all there when I got the plant which was being grown in a greenhouse so could it also be the difference in environment?

That’s edema. Too much water coming in from the roots that the plant can’t release through the standard transpiration process. So, the leaf cells burst like a blister producing the transparent look. It’s not caused by excess light. Guttation is when the leaves drip excess water.

Oh okay! Thank you I’ll try holding out an extra day or two between waterings 👍🏼

Also, provide good air circulation to help dry the soil and help with transpiration. Check humidity levels. Too high humidity levels makes it harder to release water vapor from the leaves and soil. 🍀🪴
