Why does my Philodendron Brasil keep getting mold on the top of the soil?? I have two in two different humidity levels and they both continue to get mold. I scraped off and added cinnamon to the soil and it came back. Help!!

The soil stays too moist for long periods is why you get mold on your soil.
2 LikesI bottom water, I thought that was the most efficient way?
0 LikesThe watering method is irrelevant, is wetness of soil and how long it is wet for is what can determine if mold will form on it. Mold is generally harmless to the plant.
2 LikesLet the soil dry out completely before watering. The clear pots tend to get more mold since light has access to more soil and helps it grow especially if the soil continually stays moist. I drop the clear pots inside a ceramic pot to block light helps anchor the pots.
