My toddler accidentally broke off a piece of my PPP. A bummer, but not the end of the world. I stuck it in water and.l crossed my fingers, and sure enough it’s grown roots. However, recently it’s developed some sort of white fuzz along the roots, and the lower leaves are turning brown and falling off. I’ve tried changing the water and rinsing it off, but it always comes back. Any advice? I’d love to repot it back in with its mama but don’t want to spread whatever it is.

The ‘fuzz’ is just water roots, and the leaves may be falling off due to lack of nutrients if you’re just using water with no fertiliser in. Could also be conditions; light, humidity etc, so can’t help too much!

Try not to change the water fully with water prop. When they root they produce a rooting hormone that leeches into the water to increase root growth. Always leave some water to keep encouraging root growth. Those look like water roots, but to be safe you could put a splash of hydroperoxide in there and if it isn’t roots they’ll clear away fast. Roots Looks really healthy tho! And almost ready for a pot!
