April

I’ve been using Planta for a couple months now and most of my plants have really benefited from the customized watering schedules…except for maybe this one? I used to water her once a month before I started Planta in February but since her watering schedule increased in frequency following Planta’s advice I’ve noticed more and more yellow leaves. They are at the top and look like some of the oldest leaves though, so I’m not sure if it was going to happen anyway or if she’s not getting enough light at the top or if it really is overwatering. I’ve had her for at least 2 years without seeing this happen before, but we did move last summer. I think she had gotten used to a sunnier spot than I can provide now. Any thoughts?

Are you physically checking the soil moisture before watering and snoozing the reminder as needed? Planta should be used as a reminder to check the soil moisture and watering and snoozing as the plant needs.

Yes but I think I’ll start checking with a wooden stick like I saw someone else recommend just in case it’s just the top layer that’s dry. I’ve been fertilizing it when Planta says to as well, and I never did before. Maybe that’s a shock as well.

Yes I use a bamboo skewer too. Also, I do think it is prob not getting enough light at the top bc of how I high it is compared to the windows so that can be another culprit. Perhaps she was fine in that spot when she was shorter and smaller but now she’s taller and so it’s just not getting enough light up there. You can move her or get a grow light to clip on and help her out.

Yeah I was wondering that, I can let it down from the hook a little more using twine.
