Noticed the dark spot on this leaf last week. Today I noticed it’s gotten bigger and the leaf is yellowing. I repotted the plant last month and haven’t watered for 19 days because the soil has been wet. Is it just a bad leaf or should I be concerned about root rot?
Depends on where you live. 19 days seems like a long time. How much amendments (perlite, coco chunks, etc) have been added to the soil? These plants like aeration around their roots
좋아요 1개 I added perlite to the soil when I repotted. Im not sure how much but maybe I should I add more? I’m in Illinois.
0개 좋아요 A tip is that an UNDER watered plant is easier to save than an OVER watered plant. When the app tells you to water, it really means CHECK to see if it’s ready to be watered. I wouldn’t try to repot right now. Keep an eye on it and make sure it’s getting bright light - especially as it’s fall and winter is coming 😵💫

Need to check roots. Only added perlite likely is keeping soil too wet and causing root rot.
좋아요 1개 The roots looked good- tg!! There was a lot of perlite so I added orchard bark to it but the bottom soil was very wet. Maybe I just watered it too much when I last watered??
좋아요 1개 No such thing as too much water, only a problem if watering too frequently. Now the soil has perlite and orchid bark? I think your plant may be in shock. Remove this leaf and watch the other ones. I personally have had to repot a plant more than once because the soil mix wasn’t quite right. We learn as we go haha
