Repotted the mother plant of my silver sword philo. I went from a nursery pot to an 8 inch pot. The soil is a mix of indoor, orchid and perlite. Since the repotting, all the leaves have curled in and it looks super sad. Plants says it’s under watered? Thoughts? TIA.

    oof yikes — any damage to the roots when you transferred? how big was your nursery pot?

      The nursery pot was probably 5 inches.

    Also did you water it when you transferred it? If not you should absolutely do that, it’s always best to water when you repot a plant.

      I bottom watered it. I wonder if I should water it from the top?

    I wonder if I should take the plant out and try to grow better roots in a smaller nursery pot?

    It actually just started raining at my house. So I stuck it outside to see if rainwater would help.

    I always top water my plants because I can be bothered to wait for bottom watering although I do have trays so I let them sit in the drainage for a while before I use a wet vac to clean it all up. Hopefully a good watering helps

    Of course as soon as I put the plant outside it stopped raining. Ugh. I’ll water it through tomorrow morning.

    It might also just be shock. Give it “normal” water and wait a week or so to watch how it reacts. Some plants just HATE repotting.

    mine never did this and it’s been repotted twice — the extreme curling is what made me ask about root damage. just food for thought! hope she bounces back 🤞

    So I pulled out the props and found there are no roots. I had cut these off of the mother plant at the nodes. They are now in a vase of water trying to grow some roots.
