How can I best help this Philo Micans??? I brought her home from Facebook Marketplace yesterday and owner said she needed to be untangled. Sure did- went from 2 ft to 6 ft real quick 😳 Her roots are hanging on by a thread and I have no idea how to wind such long vines around the moss pole! Last pic is what she looked like when I brought her home
This will sound harsh. But, I recommend cutting most of it off leaving about 3 or 4 leaf nodes per vine. The vines look like they got too dry too long based on the large gaps between the leaf nodes. Also, it’s been in full direct sun at some point based the sun stressed leaves. Cutting it will give the new growth a chance to grow healthier under better care. I would replace the old soil as well.
6 likes THANK YOU!! I figured I’d have to chop and prop 💔 would I be able to cut each vine down into 3-4 node lengths, make a dozen+ props out of them, and then repot all back into the same pot? So grateful for your insight, this is my first philo and I had no idea what I was getting myself into!

I'd prop it. Cut a bunch back and if the nodes look good, prop them into the pot, so it's fuller, then you can start the march up a pole for big leaves

0 likes Yes. You could even wrap the vine in a spiral in the pot, burying the nodes, then cut them once the root. If you choose to cut first, make sure to water the plant the night before, to give them the best chance. And they're well hydrated
