Hello I attempted to propagate my velvet leaf philodendron and had very slow success over the course of of four months granted it was in the winter. Would that be why it was so slow with a couple and none with others? Also is there anything I can do to help the process aside from water changes ofc? Thank you for all the advice in advance!
plants know what time of year it is, they have internal clocks, so even if your lighting, temp, and humidity are all perfect, your plant still knows that it's winter and they will always slow down during the colder months. it should get much quicker now. you can assist by giving it a smaller container if it has been slow to root. sometimes there's too much water and rooting hormone doesn't build up enough for it to continue growing. only change the water when it gets murky, and you can pour in a small splash of 3% hydrogen peroxide to prevent algae growth for longer.

좋아요 1개Winter time is when plants slow their growth or stop completely. That’s normal. Try adding some prop drops or an air stone. Or a pothos cuttings. Pothos cutting naturally give off rooting hormones from their nodes
