    Birken will push out leaves without stripes if its stressed or not getting enough light

      Ok. Good to know. I didn't think the shape of the bottom leaves was birkin looking either. Now that I know I'll move him to better light

    Birkin often revert back to pre hybrid days. I’ve seen many in the stores that hardly look like Birkins.

      Makes sense. This little guy was a total rescue. Planta was telling me its everything BUT a philodendron. So I've just been watering and increasing his light and voila. Birkin. Lol

      Facebook, the source of misinformation about everything, claims more light will help. But I have two Birkins side by side, same light, same care, and one is putting out all kinds of weird leaves, which means it’s reverting. Idc though cause I think it makes the plant more interesting. But increase the light, see what happens. I can also be wrong.

      Def agree. I don't mind at all. Was just curious about what it was.

    My birkin puts out striped leaves and as they age they turn solid.

    the variegation of birkins is highly unstable. i've had my birkin revert and then pop out a variegated leaf a month later. confusing and annoying 🙄 i've learned to let it go and do whatever it wants
