Looking for advice! My "malay gold" philo is getting so tall but only has one heading growth point. I've seen mixed guidance online whether it's wise to chop it. I don't want to hurt it but feel like chopping is the only option. Can anyone confirm these do well with a hack? This is about 4ft tall.
i would chop 🤷 it depends on the results you want. because they're self heading, it's unlikely it'll branch if you cut it. if you want multiple growth points, you want to put multiple main stems in the pot. also because they're self heading, it's likely their root systems will fight and one will eventually outcompete the others. having multiple in one pot requires higher light and more fertilizer if you want to keep them together long term. it CAN be done, but it's honestly a little obnoxious lol. i just had to separate my PPP because there were too many and one was killing the other three.

Amazing! I never put mine on a pole so it’s cool to see what she would look like if I did. Yes, it is self heading but wow!! This is mine. So different!!
