I got this new philodendron burgandy today and was wondering if this was rust. If so how can I take care of it?

Fungal rust is harsh and spreads fast. It’s dusty and wipes off. This doesn’t look like rust in the picture. But, check the back of the leaves. This looks like edema.

0개 좋아요Do you think it’s edema?
0개 좋아요I’m really not sure. But I’m sure you would have some idea if you are overwatering.
좋아요 1개I bought the plant like 2 days ago 😭 so I don’t know but about her yet
좋아요 1개Edema can come from overwatering or from the roots sending too much water to the plant. The cells swell from fluid build up and burst leaving the pock marks. The fix is to regulate watering. Verify the soil is dry before watering again. Don’t water to a strict schedule without verifying the soil is dry. Check the internet for more details on edema/oedema.
