I just got this beautiful white princess philodendron! I really do not want this plant to die on me so if you guys have any tips please please please tell me! Also just wanted to get a second opinion, do you guys think I should repot or keep it in its nursery pot? Thank you guys in advance!!! ❤️🪴😍

    It’s up to you of course, but i personally repot right away. I like to check the root health, check for pests, and put it in a substrate that I’m already familiar with. (I also put all my plants in clear nursery pots so I can keep an eye on the roots but I know this is probably overkill lol) As far as care, these guys are super hardy so don’t worry too much. They like bright indirect light, let them dry before watering, and I have mine in an aroid mix (orchid bark, perlite, coco chips, etc).

    I agree with send_nodes’s advice, but I personally prefer waiting 1-2 weeks to repot after bringing a plant home. The change in location can already be stressful, and I prefer for them to be acclimated to my environment before stressing them again. The one exception is if I suspect it has pests or root rot, in which case I repot immediately. However, this is more of a personal decision, and it won’t harm the plant to repot right away, it may just go through more of a repot shock. I also prefer not to mist my plants, as it doesn’t actually affect ambient humidity enough to make a difference, and it can cause sunburn, fungal infections, and attract pests.

      Ok I will leave it in the pot for a bit! Do you think instead of misting, a humidifier by it would be better for it?

      A humidifier is definitely better than misting, but I’ve found that unless you live in a very dry area, most plants are actually fine with regular humidity, although it may end up happier with a humidifier

    I always repot right away, but I get a lot of my plants from big box stores and the ones on clearance so they usually need TLC when I bring them home! Your white princess is gorgeous! Mine has been an uphill battle since it was given to us, but I think that was my fault not the plant.
