I purchased this plant looking like this. Do you guys think the leaf will ever look better?? Or is there a deeper problem I’m not seeing

leaf damage is permanent— but if you get the right care and conditions going your future growth will be good. there is definitely something going on that needs to be addressed

Maybe a watering issue? Check the root ball and see if it looks healthy :)

When I repotted it, I had to remove some sort of cloth that was covering the root ball. This was about a week ago

Hmm, depending on what was used the plant should benefit from not having the cloth in the way now !

Inspect for thrips and/or spider mites.

Is there any pests on the leaves? (eg. spider mites)

I’ll have to take a closer look. I treat my plants when I water them, and I inspect almost every day. Maybe idk what I’m looking for

you can easily find how to identify different houseplant pests by just googling it, I noted them down so I knew for the next time pests infested my plants

After closer inspection, I found some crawlies. Got some advice from my local plant store and got to work Wiped the leaves (front and back) treated the plant with Castile soap, neem oil, rosemary, lavender (Did this outside) Now we wait.

I’ve closly inspected every day and honestly I think it’s getting better? A new leaf even just poked through. I won’t settle my suspicions yet tho I’m still on the prowl.
