I believe this is a white princess philo? Can I get some opinions on what is causing these brown spots-for lack of a better word. The plant is growing great. The new leaves look normal. I have just noticed that some of the older leaves have these brown areas and some of the leaves have brown spots. I do not see any type of pest on the plant. Planta suggested a watering issue. I thank you in advance!

Offhand, I might guess it’s a fungal issue, like black spot…😖! If that’s what it is… (let’s wait and see what other members say)… you’ll want to spray with something like a copper fungicide, once a week for four weeks, 7 to 10 days apart. I’ve had black spot on my plants, and it is a booger to treat, and it is very contagious! Quarantine this plant, and then check your other plants for similar spots. I have found that it’s a good idea to spray all of your plants, whether or not they have spots. I have later found that as new leaves open, many of them will have spots, even though the older leaves on the plant don’t. I sure hope your plant is suffering from some other issue besides black spot! Good luck with whatever it is…

This has been in my leaves for months and the plant has continued to grown normally and quite well actually. I don’t see this on any other plants thank goodness! It’s really strange

Also-I noticed that this has been on some of the brand new leaves but they opened and have grown normally

This is what I found on some of my plants that had black spot. Some of these plants that were infected, would have new leaves open, and then they too would be marked with spots and lines caused by this disease. It sounds to me, like it might be a good idea for you to commence a spray series, with something like a copper fungicide, which I think is better than neem, in my experience with this nasty disease. Text me back if you have any questions about your plant, and these markings. Good luck!

BE SURE you spray every 7 to 10 days for four times in a row! It’s very important, as I screwed up several times, and let the time between sprayings go too long. Unfortunately, the fungus did NOT go away! I have had to start over several times… not the way to go! I have found the best way to do it, is to put it on my calendar, so I am automatically reminded. Just a suggestion! Good luck!
