    I believe this can occur for a number of reasons during leaf formation eg watering I inconsistency or nutrient deficiency, insufficient humidity or change of environment. Sometimes a leaf also rips when it’s opening. This happened to one of mine recently too and I attribute it to environmental stress as I moved house during the period the leaf was forming and the plant’s environment significantly changed during that time
