Hi! I’m very new to plants and just got this philodendron Mamei and he is quite floppy all the way to the stalk and I worry he’s not planted as deep as he should be? I was able to stick a chopstick in a spot where he no longer wobbles at all anymore, but I wanted to check and make sure this won’t be a problem in the future. Sorry for silly questions!!

I mean maybe it could be just slightly deeper but not much and even if it is, it will still need to be staked to help it remain upright so you’ll want to get some taller stakes in the future :)

Should I maybe just wait to repot it until it grows and fills out the planter more? It just seems like one wrong bump and the whole guy will fall out. Mostly just looking to see if there’s any real danger to the plant if he’s not buried deep enough 🤔

You could use some string to tie the plant to your pole if you’re worried about it tipping over. As long as all the roots are covered then it should be buried deep enough

No when I say slight, I mean slight like you could put a small handful of soil on the top but it’s fine as is. You have to stake the plants so they stay upright, they grow horizontally or vine around trees as a natural stake in their natural habitats so you’ll need to attach them to a stake or your chopstick for now with plant Velcro or tape or string.
