Hello! This is my first baby philo and she came to me with three pink leaves. I potted her with brand new soil and a drainage pot and I’ve been listening to the app on when to water/mist so far and within a week she already looks way worse and looks like she’s dying 😭😭 I asked the plant experts on this app and they said nothing seemed wrong except the pot being too big so I switched to a smaller one but I don’t know if there’s anything else I’m doing wrong. I’m sad I don’t want all her pink leaves to die off.

What I have learned from making the mistake myself, is that Philo’s do NOT like being repotted until they are much more mature and roots are well established. I had a white wizard and white princess. Had them for a couple months before I repotted and still lost them both due to root rot. They did not like the bigger pot and the soil just drowned them. I only went an inch up in size. So now, I will NOT repot a Philo until it is much bigger and has tons of strong roots.

I purchased this one online and it didn’t come in any pot, just it’s original soil wrapped in a wet towel. I potted it with its original soil it was already in plus more and it’s declined ever since :(

Oh no! Sorry to hear that happened. I would take it out and check the roots for root rot. You can try putting it in a smaller pot in a chunky soil mix to see if you can save it.
