Hi all. Just found this community and was hoping someone could give me an assist with an issue on a Philly. These spots started appearing about 2 weeks ago and it’s got progressively worse quickly. I haven’t had the pleasure of dealing with pest yet in my plant journey so I may be missing them but I can’t see any pests anywhere on the plant after checking a million times 😁. It’s kept in a well draining pot in a mix of perlite, pumice, coco husk and bark, humidity is avg 60%, grow light on for 8 hours per day, watering is only when I feel the top few dry. Any help for treatment or troubleshooting ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Vince.

So I’m actually having this exact issue with my newly arrived Philly. I contacted Planta support and had this response… ——- Hi, I’m sorry about your plant. It looks like this is due to some previous mechanical damage. This usually happens after accidentally brushing against it, repotting it or moving it and bruising it. The damage might not be apparent at first, but after a while it might start changing color and dry. This won't revert back to green I'm afraid. Luckily it's not contagious and any new growth still has all the best chances of turning out just fine again. Please let me know if you have any questions. ——— I hope that helps! I’m guessing my one got affected in transit as it’s present on the largest leaf sadly.

Thanks Tommy. To confuse matters, Planta told me that it’s more than likely thrips, I still haven’t seen a single bug, I have some predatory mites arriving today to be safe as I really don’t want this spreading.

Not thrips. I have the same thing, but I moved it to lower light and it’s dark and sexy, now. Lol
