This philodendron keeps getting taller and is growing beautifully. However, the stem at the bottom is weaker than towards the top. It appears the more it grows, the thicker stems and more of them, which causes it to start to tip over. What should I do? Should I propagate the thick parts? I’m not sure how to deal with it.

There are several options. It depends if you want to keep it in one piece or don’t mind cutting it. Philodendrons are climbers. It’s trying to climb. You will need a support pole, board or ladder shaped trellis to keep it in one piece. Moss poles are sold everywhere. They are stackable. Depends on what support you want. You can cut it down, propagate the cuttings into new separate plants or put them back with the mother plant in an appropriate size pot to get a fuller plant. You can trim them when they get too tall and repeat the process. Good luck 🍀

Thank you. I already propagated it once and added to the plant and it’s growing fuller already. I guess I’ll do it again. 😊
