Hi! I’ve had my white Princess for about a month - first philodendron. The white leaves have started to brown and curl. Can anyone tell me why this might be or what to do? I’ve heard you should prune any white leaves but unsure if that’s true… advice much appreciated

People swear by using silica, it’s supposed to help keep the white, white. Not sure if it’s true though, I’ve tried it myself, but my plants are all baby plants so I can’t tell if it helps or not. But the variegation on your plant is beautiful! Hope someone else with more experience can give more suggestions 🥰

Yeah, like SkeletonPlants said, the green parts are essential for photosynthesis. The white leaves end up being just a drain on the rest of the plant. They easily turn brown and die off. That’s a gorgeous specimen you’ve got though. With all those other leaves, I’m sure they can support the rest of the plant if you trim the white ones off. So long as the lighting is good and strong

Variegated plants only do well when attached to the mother plant. Variegated plants lack chlorophyll, which is essential for photosynthesis (how the plant takes in nutrients). Your all white leaf lacked chlorophyll, which makes it harder to survive
