Finally got my hands on a pink princess baby 🥹 this past Sunday August the 27th , but i don’t know if i like the soil, it looks very compact and the new growth looks a little yellow 😭. Should i repot now? Or wait a little? Thanks in advance 🫶🏻

This may be *controversial yet brave*, but I often repot pretty soon after I get plants home, especially if I’ve bought from a big box store, and/or the plant usually likes well-draining soil. Box stores typically uses soil that doesn’t drain as well so that they don’t have to water as often, which I understand from a logic point of view, but it isn’t always good for the plant long term. When I suspect that could be the case, I give the plant a few days to acclimate to humidity and temperature, then I repot using soil and a pot of my preference.

I usually wait a couple days as well but I wasn’t too sure about the pink princess! ☺️ thank you ☺️

The soil does look awfully compacted. Did you get it at a box store? If so, my opinion is that it’s been in home-like conditions already (less humidity and light than a greenhouse), so it won’t need as much transitioning. Therefore I would repot it personally Nice marbling color! The new leaf looks healthy to me, I think it just hasn’t hardened off yet and turned darker green

I got it at a farmers market! So I’m assuming the guy has a million and one plants, and used that soil for longer periods between waterings, but thank you so much! I’ve been dying to get my hands on one of these and i just want to make sure I’m not going to stress it out ! ☺️

I am also so scared to even touch let alone water my pink princess as well… though pothos is my favorite plant lol. My soil does not look the best either 😩

New PPP leaves tend to be on the brownish side until they harden.
