I’m starting to get a liittle concerned about my philodendron, It recently just started trailing and growing pretty nice size leaves, then all the sudden the earlier leaves are now getting lighter green stripes in them ? Are they getting too much sun? They sit in my window sill and get a few hours of morning sun which helped it grow but now I’m worried it is hurting it 😭 any tips or help

    That should be good sunlight for it, if you feel its too much move it a foot or two away from the window to decrease the amount of direct light. Do you know what type of philo this is? If its a juvenile variegated plant it could be starting to change its colors….

      Hmm, I believe they should be a glossy green then…. Do you fertilize it? Could need some nutrients, or possibly an over/under watering situation. If you just water when the app tells you to it’s probably too much (this goes for almost all your plants). Use your finger, or a wooden chopstick to check the soil on watering day and only water if 50% (or more) is dry.

      I noticed that the app tells me to water before I should water, I think my plant has grown a lot and seems to get pretty dry quickly now, and yes I did fertilize it. I’m keeping a close eye on it cuz this is my favorite plant 😅

      The app definitely makes you overwater. A wooden chopstick will be your best friend with this :)

    The leaves will likely darken as they harden off, my new leaves are always lighter green

      The older leaves are turning a lighter green! That’s what I’m worried about

      Dang… if they’re the oldest leaves, maybe it’s just their time to go? But overwatering is almost always the problem, good luck!
