It looks like over watering to me. In my experience philodendrons like a chunky soil mix so maybe add some perlite/bark and then water only when it’s 75-50% dry

thank you! currently it’s on peat moss soil, i’ll change it and hope phil (plant name) is better

^^i agree it needs a good repot with some chunky soil. also make sure that when you water you don’t keep any excess sitting in that dish! it can be overwatered by absorbing the water sitting at the bottom if it’s left

thank you! i did a repot and put it in that blue pot, should i repot it in its original plastic container? i had no idea that a dish could do that! you guys are so very helpful!

as long as the blue pot has good drainage you should be fine to keep it there!

I personally pot my philos in a succulent & cactus mix, I find it keeps them happiest than using all purpose soil. And I think the pot you’re using now is fine but just make sure that after you water you empty the tray after a bit so it’s not just hanging out in standing water.
