Just got a pink princess from Walmart that wasn't doing so hot. She doesn't have a lot of color, but has a couple new leafs coming in. Any advice on getting her to grow pink and strong? (Or any advice is helpful, this is my first philodendron) EDIT: I have a grow light on currently I forgot to mention

    Hey! I got mine from Meijer! I would give her some humidity and that light should help! I’d give it a few weeks in that pot to adjust to your surroundings but then I’d repot to look for root rot and anything else could be causing it to not be the best! Hope that helps! I also have mine in a west facing window and she loves it

    Definitely good, bright indirect light is best for variegated plants. I’ve found that the variegation on plants like a pink princess or a white knight, etc. bought at big box stores just isn’t as good the variegation from some nurseries and online sellers.

    The genetics for variegation in the Pink Princess isn’t very strong when purchased from big box stores, unfortunately, I’ve learned my lesson and will only purchase rare plants from reputable sellers or growers from now on. Even with having the perfect lighting for her, she barely produced any pink at all, and eventually just looked “basic”. Hopefully you have a better experience though!
