Hi friends, I want to get a pink princess or a white knight philodendron next. But I’m hesitant because every photo I’ve seen shows those variations as being tall and wanting to send up tall stocks with leaves. I’m more interested in vining plants that hang down off a windowsill or from a hanging planter. I like collecting different kinds of pothos and philodendrons. Does the pink princess still hang down and vine the same way the heart shaped philodendron does? Thanks all, Melissa 🪴

Pink princesses do not vine like heartleaf philodendrons, however there are many varieties of heartleaf philodendrons that produce beautiful vines :)

I’m really interested in the Brasil vining variety. Do you have any of the heart leaf variations to recommend?

I have a lemon lime heartleaf philodendron which I love, that’s the only heartleaf variation that I have, someone also just commented a few good recommendations below

Micans are also a pretty cool heartleaf variety. Much darker than a Lime or Brasil though, so just depends on what esthetic you’re going for.

They can hang technically, but it’s not really the same. I’d say I’d take a picture of my hanging (reverted) pink princess but the stems snapped off while I was moving it the other day 😅 Their stems are just too inflexible to hold their own weight after a while I’m trying to brainstorm some similar vining plants 🤔 Epipremnum pinnatum is a pothos cousin. It has similar variegation to a white wizard philodendron but with darker green. The leaves start in a long tear shape, but can get fenestrations as it grows. I’ve been seeing it more often in plant shops and the prices are getting more reasonable lately Philodendron micans pink variegated is one of the few pink viners I can think of but they’re definitely pricey and hard to find still. Ummm let’s see. Hoya krimson queen is a nice hanging plant with pink variegation in high light. Syngoniums come in a variety of colors and patterns. They can be trailing plants because the stems are flexible I hope that helps! I also don’t like the way pink princess grows over time. They’re cutest when they’re new lol
