This is Pheel. He’s my first Philodendron and he’s a White Wave Birkin. I’ve had him since September last year and he seems happy but he’s only been giving me white leaves and he wants to give them to me A LOT! I know that the white leaves won’t photosynthesise and I’ll probably have to chop them off at some point but can anyone tell me if I’m doing alright by my boy or if all these white leaves will harm the overall plant? Also, (and if you’ve read this far I thank you) you can see a couple of teeny tiny leaves in one of the pictures so I was wondering if this would present any problems for him? TIA

Mine has been doing the same thing. At first she gave me a lot of green leaves but ever since her first white one, she’s only given me white leaves and is pushing out another white as we speak

They’re beautiful leaves 😍 My Pheel is trying to pop out leaves from leaves that haven’t opened properly 🤷🏻‍♀️ Hopefully someone can tell us what to do about it, if anything 🤞🏼

So unlike other variegated plants, I’ve found that my birkin can handle all white leaves. It gives me all white if the lighting is too high, and when I moved it to a less intense spot the new leaves had more green again

Ahhh he is in a South facing window. Maybe I’ll hide him under my Monstera a little bit and see if that makes any difference. Thank you 🙏🏼

Yeah! Monsteras are perfect for making dappled sunlight ☺️ Your birkin is so full and lovely looking, I’m sure it’ll do great! Happy growing 🪴
