My Brasil has a few vines with upper areas turning brown, but the leaves look fine and there’s new growth coming in. None of the lower parts of any vines look this way. Wondering if I should be concerned. I’m using a well draining soil and I am careful not to water too often. I’m also using a small grow light to supplement because the brightest window in my apartment is northeast facing with a long overhang and another building blocking a lot of light. The plant seems healthy otherwise, I just think it’s weird that a few parts of the vine are browning and that’s it. Note- You’ll see some white spots on the leaves because I have been treating it with a baking soda spray for powdery mildew once a week for a couple weeks, and using a low speed fan for a few minutes to make sure the leaves dry after treating. I’m pretty sure at this point the white spots are the baking soda and not the mildew, but I won’t really know until I do another 2 treatments. It seems to be improving overall, but if I’m causing a problem I want to adjust before I hurt my philo further.

I find that new growth always kind of has a different hue than the older leaves/stems.

Yes! New growth will often be a different color, and as it matures/hardens off will match the rest of the plant. Here’s an example from my narrow escape philo
