How can I encourage better growth on my Philodendron Brasil? I want it to look bushier / fuller, especially near the base!

Trimming back leggy stems would help, or pinching back the tip of stems would encourage branching!

1 likeAdd a grow light or give it filtered sunlight for 8 hours a day (East/South window). Fertilize every 2 weeks with 50% diluted fertilizer. The leaves should grow bigger with sufficient light and nutrients. My Brasil is in a 10” wide pot with many vines in the pot. It gets bright east and filtered west sunlight.
11 likesWow, you have a very gorgeous plant! Mine gets about 8 - 9 hours of light per day in an east window, but I’ve never tried fertilizer. What product / brand do you recommend?
0 likesSometimes I run out of store bought fertilizer, I use stuff out of my home- like ground coffee, egg shells, and banana peel soaked water. My plants love them.

1 likeFertilizer is essential for plants to thrive. There may be timed released fertilizer beads from the nursery. But, it only lasts 6-8 months. I’ve used diluted Miracle Gro for many years. It works for me. I also use Osmocote fertilizer beads on some plants. SuperThrive plant vitamins works well on all my plants and propagation plants.
1 likeI like to wrap my runners in the pot and pin them down so they’ll root in. After a while you can train them back up the trellis
