I’m worried about my philo. I see that it’s leaking sap and has these brown bumpy lines. Are these scales or am I being paranoid?!

Not sure about the scaling you point out but when I zoom in on the bottom two pics … are those tiny white pests I see?

I think it’s just water droplets

It’s sticky sap-like droplets on the stems of each leaf and some of the newer ones too.

That doesn’t look like scale to me. I think it’s just the stem hardening. If you look at the lowest part of the stems, you see the same thing but “shorter”.

I think I read somewhere that plants like this will expel excess water from their leaves. Maybe that’s what yours is going? Sometime my Pothos and monstera have water drops on their leaf tips after a good water.

I believe this is some type of respiration? My pothos, monstera and tradescantia do this leaking during the warmer seasons (not sure where you’re located) and my monstera has those brown stripes too it causes no harm I look at them like stretch marks they’re cute!

When your plants do their leaking, is it water or is it sticky? I’m in Kansas.
