New Philodendron mum here (well he’s a few months in my care, mid October’23) and I think my “Pheel” is perfectly happy. The question is do I help the new leaves to break free or do I let them escape on their own?

I have a tendency to break them when I try to help with a q-tip… but a little misting can help

Sometimes they need help cause they kink and damage the leaf. Try misting them first, but if you wanna help them you mist it then with a damp q-tip gently pop the stuck leaf out. I’ve broken some trying to help but i can’t help it 😆

I recently helped free a new leaf and now it looks a little discolored and deformed, a few days later. Not sure if it’ll recover.

Thanks for the replies. I’m misting every other day so I’m going to let him do his thing and watch, trying not to hold my breath lol 😜
