got this philodendron?? here from a friend yesterday she had her sitting on her porch scolding , how do i fix her i want to add her into a betta tank once she’s healthy . how do i get her a boost in life ??

    It looks like there is some root rot happening at the base. Unpot it and cut out the root rot. Give the rest of the roots a hydrogen rinse and repot in fresh soil. There are so many good nodes there. I would give her a good chop to encourage new growth in the pot and then water prop all the cuttings to get new roots going

      okay so what exactly do i cut that’s where i don’t understand and i don’t wanna bald her to bad where she doesn’t recover

      and a hydrogen rinse if where you pour a lil hydrogen peroxide in the water ?? i’m completely new to the whole thing i just seen this plant and knew i could save it with time and effort

      No prob. Mix peroxide and water (1part hydro:3 parts water) and drop the freshly cleaned roots in there for a few mins after you remove the black and mushy roots. If you leave the rot, it will spread, so losing some of the plant is better than all. Nodes are the little knotches on the stems that can grow new shoots and roots. You cut a little above a nodeand put that in water to grow new roots. It takes a few weeks to get the roots going. You need to change the water weekly and give the roots a gentle rinse until you see secondary roots forming. Then you can put that back into the pot with the other to fill it out or put in new pot to start a second plant. There are a lot of water propingating youtube vids to help

    I fully agree with Christina’s approach to save the parts that are healthy, and cutting out ALL the rotting stems and roots. Plus, disinfect the remaining healthy roots, if any. Propagate the cut pieces in water near bright indirect light. The rest is to determine why the plant dropped all the leaves and started to rot from the core. It’s likely overwatering, too low lighting, insufficient fertilizer and possibly too low temperatures in winter. It’s important to replace with good well draining soil, and give it good lighting/fertilizer/air circulation. Good luck.🪴🍀

      My pothos looked just like this. I cleaned out the root rot and repotted. I am water propagating the leaves with nodes, and cut the wet sticks to propagate those too. Is there anything else I need to do?
