Help! Is my pothos dying? I repotted it a month or so ago, and it was completely root bound, so I cut away extra wrapped roots and loosened the root ball. It was happy in this slightly bigger pot and growing, until it wasn’t. It’s on a regular watering schedule and near a window. I don’t know what could be wrong, no sign of pests. Leaves are turning yellow and droopy. Many thanks, Sad pothos parent

    It could need some fertilizer?

It looks overwatered. Plants really don’t like a watering schedule. You need to be feeling the soil before you water. For a pothos it should be very nearly completely dry all the way to the bottom, and that won’t happen in the same number of days every time. It depends on weather and humidity and several different factors. I’d definitely unpot it and check for rot.

Could be shock too. I repotted my Hawaiian pothos too early and she dropped a BUNCH of leaves because it was a wild adjustment. She was also pretty root bound so I cut off the bottom half and then added new soil. It could also be the issues described above, but since plants (like people) don’t always adapt well to change, give it some time. My greenhouse rep where I bought Leilani (HP) told me that it takes about two weeks for plants to get adjusted to locations as well so time is key here. ❤️ chin up, buttercup

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the advice so much! I’ll check for rot and check the soil before I water it.

Repotting caused my excellent Pothos to lose a bunch of leaves, as I disturbed the roots. I now just remove the old pot and carefully set the pot shaped soil in a larger pot and fill in the soil around.
