HELP! I recently repotted this pothos from ceramic pot to bigger metal pot and it’s dying and fallout out from the roots. Should I replant it again? In a smaller or bigger pot? I’ve been growing it since it was a baby so please help me save her!
Cut the yellow leaves and repot into a smaller pot with good drainage holes
4개 좋아요 The pot it is currently in is too big your pothos will be focusing on growing roots to fill the pot instead of focusing on leaf growth so it has to be moved into a smaller pot only repot when you have visible roots coming out from the drainage holes if there are no roots showing from the drainage holes the plant is not ready to be repotted into something bigger

chunky soil!!! along with everything Kathrine commented:) if you repot her, it may be too much stress but pothos are supposed to be very resilient.

You also need to get rid of that water globe in that plant, the soil is staying constantly too moist.. pothos soil should not stay constantly wet

I only use metal pots as decorative outer pots to hold my plants when they are in plastic pots. It’s too hard to remove the plant from the metal pot. You can squeeze the sides. I recommend using the metal pot as an outer pot to make it easier on yourself. When to repot depends on several of things: 1) the roots are overgrown/root bound and not allowing water to drain or 2) there are more roots that soil in the pot. The pot can still drain. But, the roots are too much, using up all the nutrients in the soil. 3) the soil condition is bad (too wet/dry/infested). Note, roots pushing out the bottom is not always a sign the plant needs repotting. It could be roots tapping into the excess water below the pot like a drink straw. You need to check all of the roots before making a decision to repot or you can repot too soon. This leads to root rot. The excess soil and water suffocates the root system.
